About the Study
This verse-by-verse study of the Book of James mirrors Pastor Luke’s Sunday morning teaching but focuses solely on teaching without worship, slides, or multimedia. You’ll sit in the worship center and listen as Dan Miller teaches from the pulpit, diving deeper into Scripture. This study is designed for those craving a more in-depth exploration of God’s Word.
Meet the Teacher
Dan Miller, a detective for the Parkersburg Police Department, has been married to his wife Melissa for 11 years and together they have seven children. Dan is a teaching elder at City Bible Church. He is passionate about teaching God’s Word and has a heart for helping others grow in their Biblical understanding. Through this study, Dan seeks to practice Biblical teaching and lead the church through the powerful, practical lessons found in the Book of James.

It is a simpler, more intimate time with no worship music, slides, or extra elements—just pure, focused teaching from the Scriptures. If you’re looking for a chance to dig deeper into the Word without distraction, this is the perfect setting.
The Sunday night Bible study is preaching-style, where everyone gathers in the worship center to hear God’s word verse-by-verse from the pulpit. In contrast, Wednesday night studies are held in smaller groups, allowing for discussion and interaction. Sunday nights are focused on listening to in-depth teaching, while Wednesday nights offer a more conversational approach to studying the Bible.

No, there will be no livestream for Sunday Night Bible Study. We hope you can come in-person and participate in listening to the teaching of God’s word.
Each Sunday, we plan to start promptly at 6pm and study God’s word verse-by-verse for roughly 45 minutes to an hour.
