Find out more about who we are as a church
City Bible Church is an American Baptist Church. We strive to be Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Spirit-led as we gather together as the body of Christ. We believe the church exists to declare the name of Jesus. Our mission is to be a church that glorifies God, lives by faith, is known by love, and is centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
City Bible Church is grounded in biblical truth, with a focus on expository preaching—teaching God’s Word verse by verse and applying it to everyday life. Holding to Sola Scriptura, we prioritize sharing the Gospel and inviting everyone to grow in their walk with Jesus.
Pastor Luke has been part of City Bible Church since its beginning in 2009 and has served as Lead Pastor from day one. From the start, God has given Luke a heart for the people of the Mid-Ohio Valley and a desire to see the gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully proclaimed.
At the heart of Luke’s ministry is a commitment to faithfully teach God’s Word and point people to Christ. Through verse-by-verse, expository biblical teaching, Luke desires to help people know God, grow in their faith, and live in light of the truth of Scripture. His desire is not to draw attention to himself, but to faithfully serve Christ and give God the glory for all He is doing through His Church.
Luke is a native of West Virginia and earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University at Parkersburg. He is currently pursuing his seminary education through Rockbridge Seminary.
Luke and his wife, Stacey, have two children, Quincy and Eva. Together, they have a heart to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
